My name is Bernabe Briseño Jr., I was born in McAllen,
TX. On January 30, 1984. The places I've been in the United States
are around the East like Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, etc.
Other places I've visited are around the European countries and
Mexico. My hobby right now is to make music wit my uncle as a
DJ. The music that we create is around the category of house,
techno, drum and bass, jungle and more. Other hobbies that I do
are drawing, and building things. My interests me right now are
video games, TV, Family, friends and cars. The expectations for
my future are that I get through High school and get to college.
The college that I'm searching for is the Art Institute of Chicago,
and in that school I want to major in either multimedia or computer
graphics animator.
My party affiliation is as a Democrat. Although I agree on some
situations and topics of the "right side", my stronger
side is on the "left side". My views on abortion is
as follows: I don't agree with pro-life only cause women's rights
will be violated and because I think that in some dark situations
they (the women) should be able to choose. Now this does not mean
that I want all women to take advantage of this, but to use it
in need of a "life or death" situation. Also I'm not
for "Killing" babies, so don't get the WRONG idea. For
Graduated tax vs. Flat tax, I'm all for Graduated tax. Graduated
tax is the best way to do taxes for our nation, only cause it
makes things really fair, so it does not cheat out the system.
Flat tax is too easy cause everyone pay's the same and that's
not fair. The government should start to deal with the situations
in society much better. We as Americans can fix some of the situations
that come across from us.
Issues arise when people start to have concerns about certain
subjects. Abortion for one is a good subject. I feel as if women
should make the decision to choose how they take care of themselves.
Now this does not mean that I'm for killing babies like I said
before. I also think that environmental issues should be discussed,
only cause the things that we do to the environment will affects
us in the future. Crime is also a big issue that might want to
be discussed about. Basically our jail system might need to "beef
up" their punishment system. People are getting in and out
of jail, thinking that they will do the same type of crime that
they did before. If we were to make punishment laws a bit too
more than what they already have, then we might start to see less
crimes in the U.S.A.
My name is Samantha Morgan F. I am 18-years-old and was born on December 25th of 1983, in Woodbridge, Virginia. My family moved to the Chicagoland area in January of '98. I've lived in West Chicago ever since. I've traveled to many states including Virginia, North and South Carolina, Texas, Arizona, Indiana, and Florida. I've also traveled to Mexico and France, and enjoyed both greatly. I currently work for Rosati's Pizza in West Chicago. I've been there off and on for just about 2 years. My interests would have to include reading and writing poetry (reading and writing in general, actually), playing acoustic guitar, and going out with my boyfriend, my friends and/or my family. I'm also a movie and music junky. I enjoy all kinds of music and have collected over 350 CD's. My life long dream was to open a record store similar to the one in the movie 'High Fidelity'. Now, however, I think I'm looking more into maybe opening a restaurant, a café, or a club. After highschool I plan to attend COD for two years and then I'll transfer to a state university for my junior and senior years.
I've definitely learned much from my experience in government so far. I have declared myself as a Democrat. I hold very strong and passionate views about many issues. I also respect everyone's individual opinion and I will listen to what they have to say. I feel deeply for a strong central government. I don't mind at all giving a little extra money back in order to help our society as a whole. I think that we need that. I also feel that the graduated tax structure is in our best interest. In order for our society to be able to function through a tough situation, such as the attack on 9/11, we need to have that extra money set aside. I also strongly believe in individual rights and freedoms. I think that our government should provide its citizens with those rights.
I am 100% pro-choice. I, personally, would never have one (abortion, that is) but I believe that every woman out there should have the right to choose for herself. If we take that away from her, why don't we just throw the Ninth Amendment out the window while we're at it?! I'm also VERY passionate about the issue on gay rights. I feel that they are people just like any other and if they want to get hitched, go into the military to fight for our country, or give a child a loving home, MORE POWER TO 'EM!!! I do NOT believe in harsher punishment in our prisons. We return to the streets people who have been institutionalized and are often not capable of making decisions without some one there to tell them when, where and how. Things need to change. We need to return education to our prison system, it has been removed from all high, medium and above facilities and these are often the people who need it the most. I also do not agree with censorship. If society wants to censor everything we say then why do we need a First Amendment either?! Our society needs to realize that this is a free nation and we have already provided the people with all kinds of rights. Would we not be hypocrites if we were to take those rights away??
My name is Esteban, I was born in Mexico on August 11, 1983.
I haven't had any travel experiences yet. The hobbies that I have
are that I go to parties or dancing on the weekends, also I own
a DJ. My interests are to learn more about electronics and learn
how to draw animation cartoons.
Through out the class discussions that we have been having I came
to realize that I am a democrat. I found myself to be leaning
towards the left side of the political spectrum. As a democrat
I feel that equality amongst people is very necessary. Even though
I believe that tax should be graduated I still consider most of
my beliefs to be that of a democratic view. I feel that the state
should have more power than the federal government just because
I believe that decisions would have more effects.
I believe that everyone should have rights. If there are those
that are less fortunate we should all help each other. I support
the state-funded programs such as welfare and other public aid
programs. I feel that these programs are designed to help people
get back up there feet, therefore making it possible for them
to contribute to society.
My name is Kimberly Rae Gargula. I was born April 17th, 1984 in Gottlepe Hospital. I am older than my one sister, who is four years younger than I am. I have been to Florida, California, Tennessee, Texas, Colorado, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. Florida is my favorite place because of the weather and the ocean. I like to be with my friends and family. I plan to COD for two years than transferring to NIU for the other two. I will have a Bachelors Degree in Ultrasound/Radiology Technology. Than I hope to become an Ultrasound Tech.
I am a part of the left side of the spectrum, for many reasons. For example, I believe in equal school funding. I also am pro-choice making me fall on the left side. I do not think prayers in school should be allowed. All of those views are democratic views.
First of all, equal school funding is important. Every student deserves the same opportunity to education. I think it is only fair to give every student a good education. Than that will make college entries fairer because everyone had the same chance to learn. Abortion should be a choice for the mother not the government. I do not understand when some people say abortion is only ok for rape, incest, or if it will hurt the mother's health. I do not see were someone can draw a line, I believe you have to either support or not. If abortion was ban totally people will find ways to go around it, probably much more worse. I also believe that prayers in public schools should not be allowed. It does not make sense to pray in a public school, because there is so many different religions. Someone would get offended no matter what. If the parents what their child to pray at school they should send their child to a private school (ex. A Catholic School). All in all, my views are mostly on the left side, making me a democrat.
My name is Megan Jane'a Brandstedter. I was born at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, IL. I am the oldest child and I have 2 younger brothers. I live in West Chicago. I have traveled to California, Florida, Tennessee, Wisconsin, Arizona, Colorado, and Hawaii. My hobbies and interests are cheerleading, softball, and hanging out with my friends and Alex. I plan to go tot school to become an elementary teacher and have a family.
I am on the left side of the spectrum for many different reasons. I oppose capital punishment. I also agree that prayer in school should not be allowed. I think that there should be stronger gun control, not like wow but have some restrictions. I don't think that there should be school vouchers, but I do think that there should be equal school funding. I am also very strongly pro-choice.
First of all, I think that an abortion should be up to the women and her doctor. I do not think that a male has any room to talk or say anything about this it involves the women's rights and not his! The women should have the right to do what ever they think is necessary to there lives. I think that capital punishment is an easy way out. I think that if you are killing a person for killing someone else then you should be killed also. A wrong doesn't make a right. There is not a difference between killing someone in general and killing someone because they have killed someone. I think that if you were to have prayer in school then there would be no reason to have private schools. If someone wants to pray in school they can do it on there own time. If there was a moment of silence in school then that would be involving church and school, which is why there are private schools and churches. There is always going to be someone that has something to complain about because there is something that they don't agree with. I think that there should be stricter gun control because there are so many people that die because of dumb things that don't need to happen. School vouchers also are not good because there are people that really do need the money compared to people that don't. If there was equal school funding then there would be an easy way to help out the people that can not afford to go to a good school and this would help. If every ones education was equal I think that there would have a greater level of success for in the future.
My name is Crystal Sunshine Kirschke. I was born on March 31,
1984 in
Lutheran General Hospital, which is located in Park Ridge. I have
been to
few states, so my traveling experiences include Florida, Las Vegas,
Missouri,
Wisconsin, Indiana, Georgia, California, and in April I will be
going to
Mexico. All of these visits have been for pleasure and vacations.
I am on
the Pom Pon squad at school, and enjoy this very much. That is
my main
hobby, along with my boyfriend and hanging out with my friends.
However I am
also included in Dance Production, and Pep Club. These activities
take up
much of my time, along with my current job as a cashier, and florist
at
Dominick's Foods. My all time favorite thing is to relax in the
baking sun
during summer. As far as my future goes, I plan on getting a job
as an
elementary teacher for 1st - 3rd grades. Then after I get a handle
on things
I want to start a life with my boyfriend and eventually marry
him. I want to
fully believe in myself that I can handle things before I get
married and
have children.
I am declaring myself to be Democratic. There are many reasons
for this
and some include that of I believe that we should have the government
in
control when it is dealing with the problems in our society. I
think that if
the government didn't step in that we as a whole would be all
messed up
because there would be no control over anything. There are also
many issues
that push me over to the Democratic side, such as I am pro-choice,
and I also
think that we should have equal school funding for all the schools,
and
another topic was that I am completely for the graduated tax program.
The main issue that I have strong opinions on is about equal school
funding. I think that we should have equal school funding because
there are
many areas in which they have nothing compared to us, or Naperville.
However, I realize that people are going to say, well we work
for the money
and we want that money to go to our kids. Well okay, but should
we let kids
suffer and not get a decent education because there parents can't
afford to
move. No, that is not fair to them at all. They deserve the same
secondary
education as I am receiving. Also, I am pro-choice. I am not at
all saying
that I would ever have an abortion, but I don't think that it's
right for the
government to say that they can't do that with their life. If
a woman gets
pregnant and physically and financially take care of this child,
why should
they suffer from this, or if my mom was on drugs, why should that
child have
to suffer with a parent that probably won't even take care of
their children.
Then people say adoption. If we all have to resort to the adoption
category, then these homes are going to get so over crowded with
children
that the people running them will not know what to do with them.
Many people
that adopt want young kids, so what are they going to do with
the kids that
never get adopted? Nothing, but let's let the children suffer
by not getting
the attention and love that it needs from a family. These are
a few of my
opinions as a Democrat.
My name is Julio I was born in Winfield, Illinois on March 10th 1984 at Central DuPage hospital. The place that I have traveled to is Cancun, Mexico. I like playing soccer and football.
I am a democrat. I am on the left side of the political spectrum
for many reasons. I think that they should put rehab programs
for prisoners instead of just trying to kill them off. I think
that gun control laws should be stricter because innocent people
die because other people use guns for violence. I think that affirmative
action is not right because what if you hire someone that is not
as skilled as the person that has the better skills its not being
fair to them. I think that welfare is good because people that
are in need of money or food or clothes they should be able to
have these things. For some people its hard for them to get jobs
for certain reasons and they cant make money to support their
famalies.
Hi! So I'm 18, I am graduating this year, and I don't live with my parents anymore because I couldn't handle them anymore. I live with my boyfriend (Brandon Barclay) whom I've been dating for 11/2 years now, but I've known him for like 5 years. We also have a roommate and she is a doll her name is Mary Spardaro.
Enough about me though, as you can see I am a democrat and the reason for it is that I don't like republican ways. They seem like there really strict and not letting the fact in that we all only live once. Why live life being such a stiffler? I am all about human rights and civil rights, because without those we all just might as well be robots and boring. I believe we don't have many rights and there are so many crimes and not enough living.
I think that people just need to straighten there lives up
and start living. If anything we need to cut down on these too
many laws that we have as a society.
Most the views I hold would put me on the left side of the
political spectrum. I think that ensuring peoples' right should
be the government's first priority, ahead of everything else,
including safety. I think that everyone should be treated equally.
Therefore, I agree with laws that will promote equality. I am
in favor of a graduated tax, where the rich would pay more because
they make more money. I also feel that prisoners should be given
the opportunity to become rehabilitated instead of giving them
harsh punishment that will only make them harder criminals. I
am pro-choice. I feel the government shouldn't be involved in
decisions like these, much less have the authority to make the
decisions for you. I feel that there needs to be stricter gun
control laws in order to protect innocent citizens who may become
victim to those who misuse the right to bear arms. There is one
democratic view that I don't agree with, which is supporting Affirmative
action, even though the purpose is to ensure equality. I think
it does the exact thing it's trying to avoid: judging people based
on race, sex, religion, etc. I think instead there should be a
committee or group that can be formed that could investigate complaints
about unfair employment profiling.
1) My name is Mike. I was born at Central DuPage Hospital on May 22, 1983. I have traveled to Michigan, Iowa, Tennessee, Wisconsin, Washington DC, Main, and California. My hobbies include football, track, snowboarding, art, and ddr. I plan to go on to a four-year college and I am interested in majoring in graphic design. I expect to live a successful and adventurous life and I see myself staying with the girl I am with right now.
2) I have declared myself as a Democrat. Although a lot of my views stand on the republican side, such as abortion, affirmative action, and the national id program, I feel my strongest views are on the democratic side. I don't see how anyone can justify capital punishment. Killing another human being is just as bad as the crime, and what does it solve? It costs more than putting the person in prison for life, and life in prison with extremely harsh conditions is a much better solution. It will make the prisoner want to die, yet he knows he has to live with what he did and suffer. Another democratic view I have is we need more gun control in our society. It could be a giant step in controlling the crime and deaths that go on every day. It won't stop it, but every step we take will help. I am also for the graduated tax system and it is the fair way of taxing people. People who think flat tax is fair haven't done their research. We run on a graduated tax system now, because it works. Although some can help it, most of the lower class people in our society can't help that they are there. For our society to work, we need to tax them less and the rich more. These views on the democratic side I value the most, which is why I declared myself as a democrat.
3) I believe we need to be spending more money in helping people
living in poverty and increase welfare. I am aware some people
waste their lives away, but there are a lot of people out there
who are living a terrible life and really don't deserve it. There
are a lot of conditions and factors beyond their control and its
not always their fault that they are living in poverty.
1. I was born at Central DuPage Hospital on Winfield Road. Since I was younger I've been playing basketball. I also enjoy playing ping-pong, pool, as well as tennis. I have visited Atlanta, Washington D.C., Houston, Florida, and St. Louis. I have relatives in most of those locations so that is why I visited them. In the future I hope to attend University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). I am planning on studying medicine in order to become a pediatrician.
2. I declare my self towards the left side of the political spectrum (Democrat). Most of my views from the worksheets and other assignments place me on the left side of the political spectrum. I believe we should have gun control, graduated tax, abortion, no censorship, prisons should rehabilitate and I believe in anti-capital punishment. I believe that we should have stricter laws on gun control. Yes people have the right to bear arms but the arms should not be in the hands of criminals. Also, inmates should have sense of rehabilitation and a larger prison staff should be hired, in order to prevent deaths and escapes. The way prisoners are treated now is inhumane and they should be able to go through rehabilitation. I strongly believe in graduated tax because the government needs to generate money and the revenue comes from the taxes. With a flat tax our government will not be able to provide the services they offer to us now. Another issue is abortion; I believe abortion is an act between the mother and the baby. The mother has rights on what she wants to do. The government should not intervene with these rights. There should be no censorship. I believe people should have the right to read or listen to whatever they want. Our country is known for its freedom, so allow the people to have some. The government shouldn't be allowed to censor everything. Finally, I agree with the fact that people should be treated as humans and they should not be killed for an action they have committed. There are other ways to resolve the problem rather than just killing them. Also it states the majority of the people would forego the death penalty if they had a choice between prison in life without any escape. I think the criminal should pay the consequences for their actions, however in a tolerable manner. The death penalty is inhumane.
3. An issue which concerns me is crime. I believe there is
too much violence and crime in our society today. We must prevent
or at least slow down crime. First I think we need to start off
with fewer guns in the streets. It is extremely easy for a child
to obtain a gun nowadays. We must enforce stronger laws, which
will prevent guns from getting in the hands of criminals. Guns
kill people daily which is awfully sad. If there is a way we can
prevent crime the first step is by getting the guns out of the
hands of criminals.
I was born in Geneva at Delnor Community Hospital. I am eighteen years old and will turn nineteen on September 16. I was born the year 1983. I've traveled to Mexico, Florida, and Albuquerque New Mexico. My hobbies are to listen to music, go dancing, I like to play a little soccer and I love to play volleyball. My expectations for the future are to go to college after high school and get my degree as an administrative assistant. I attend West Chicago Community High School. I am a senior and will graduate the year 2002. I also attend school at the Technology Center of DuPage. On my junior year I was in the Data Entry program then on my senior year I am in Office Systems Technology.
I believe I stand on the left side of the political spectrum, which is to be a Democrat. I believe there should be more restrictions for the ownership of guns. I think we should have equal school funding for the help of the schools that way the students get a better education at there schools and that way the students don't take advantage of having so much money and wasting it on other things. I believe there should be facilities and welfare for the less fortunate people. Also I think that we should keep the graduated tax because it's more fortunate instead of a flat tax. I believe in having a decent minimum wage of paying a person. I think this states that I stand of the left side of the political spectrum.
I think that the crime issue is a big one because now a days
there is a lot of crime and violence in the world. The one reason
in which I believe there should be more restrictions on having
the ownership of guns. Some restrictions would be to have stricter
laws in purchasing a weapon of any kind. For example if a person
wanted a gun they have to have it insured and have a permit for
it saying that they can have the gun. But before purchasing it
I think they have a right to check their record to see if they
have any record of violence or any type use of a weapon that was
caused to do violence. This way I think we can get rid of the
weapons that are being used to cause violence out in the streets.
As far as welfare I believe there should be facilities because
there are a lot of people that need all the help that they can
get. I also believe that the people that are going to get the
help should not take advantage of it and use it only because its
necessary to them and there families. They should provide food,
clothing, and shelter for the poor or homeless. Like I've seen
that sometimes there isn't enough food for the needed and they
stay with hunger for the rest of the day. I think donations should
be sent to the needy homes that don't have enough to provide for
the needy that go there for their help.
My name is Amanda Linnae Stone. I was born at Central Dupage Hospital March 28th 1984. I've traveled to Florida, Arizona, Colorado, Wisconsin, Michigan, Tennessee and Utah. I have been dancing for 15 years now. I am pom captain of the West Chicago pom squad. I also was a member of dance production for 3 years. I am also on national honor society and a member of pep club. I plan on attending Illinois State University with a major in elementary education and a minor in dance.
I am a democrat because I support several democratic views. I lean to the left in the political spectrum. I support equal school funding because everyone should be given the same opportunity. I also agree with graduated tax verse flat tax because the more you make the more your able to pay. I am pro-choice which is a democratic view because it should not be a decision of the government what women can do with her body. I also want to abolish capital punishment, I don't believe in killing someone who killed someone else. I am also against the National ID system because eventually hackers will catch up with the system.
I myself would not have an abortion but I believe it is every woman's choice to make that decision. The government should not be able to tell a woman what she can and can't do with her own body. Some women can't physically carry a child or sometimes a child has a serve disease, which could result in death after birth. I also am a strong believer in graduated tax instead of flat tax. Graduated tax is a better idea because people who make more have a higher ability to pay higher percentage of their taxes to the government. People with lower incomes aren't able to pay the same percentage as someone who is in a higher tax bracket. The government needs the revenue to help provide government programs and if there wasn't graduated tax there wouldn't be as much revenue as fast. I also am a strong believer in equal school funding. I don't think that we should punish children in lower income communities which not as good of an education. I think we should all have the same privilege of a good education. This may help get some kids off the streets and focus on their education if they were given the opportunity of a better education.
1) My name is Carla Victoria Marrero, and I was born on March
25th, 1984. I was born at Delnore Hospital in St. Charles. Delnore
isn't a hospital anymore; it's now a psycho ward, which makes
me feel really special. I went to St. Mary's school from preschool
to 8th grade. I then came to WCCHS, and have spent the last 4
years here. Since sophomore year, I have been a cheerleader here
for football and basketball. My parents are both from Puerto Rico,
and we own a house there, so that is a place that I frequently
visit. I have also gone to Texas for a family vacation, and last
March I take part in the schools foreign exchange program and
went to Spain. I completely feel in love with Spain, and wish
to study abroad there in college. I love being with my friends,
and cheerleading. I work at LifeTime fitness at the child center.
After graduating from WCCHS, I am going to go to The University
of Illinois and hopefully study forensic psychology and criminal
investigation.
2) My party affiliation is democratic. I am a democrat because
I agree with all of the characteristics except for one, abortion.
I am very pro-life, and democrats are pro-choice. After much research,
I believe that we should have a graduated tax system. I don't
believe it's fair to get rid of the middle class, which is what
we would be doing with a flat tax system by making the poor poorer,
and the rich richer. People need to stop thinking of themselves,
and need to look out for those around them. I believe that we
should have equal school funding. I don't believe that people
should be selfish and not allow others to experience the same
education that they are getting. So
abortion is the only
issue that I don't agree with what the democrats say.
3) The issues that are discussed under the democratic affiliation
are many that I enjoy debating with people. One for the issues
that I feel very strongly about is homosexual equality. I feel
very strongly that homosexuals should have the same rights as
any heterosexual person has. I think that by allowing homosexuals
the same rights, it would become more accepted in our society,
leading to less kids being "made fun of" because they
have homosexual parents. I think that people need to stop being
so selfish and look beyond the "sin" and not punish
the "sinner". Another issue that I feel very strongly
about would be equal school funding. I don't think that anybody
should have a lesser education in high school. I want somebody
in the inner city schools to be able to have the same things that
I have in my school and that many students here take for granted.
I don't understand how people can be so selfish and say that they
don't want anything taken away from them when the things that
we have aren't used to their full capability. For example, our
computer lab just got all new computers, what happened to the
old ones, where new computers necessary? I am very much for gun
control, I feel that something needs to be done about all the
people on the streets that are getting guns in such an easy manner,
and just using them for wrong. I think that there should be stricter
background checks to make it harder for people to get guns. I
am very much on the left side of the political spectrum!
My name is Rosario Aguilar; I am 18 years of age I was born on October 3, 1983. I am a senior at West Chicago Community High School. My place of birth is Mexico, Morelia the capital of Michoacan. I've traveled to Monterrey, Wisconsin, and Indiana. It was an exciting experience visiting these places, especially Wisconsin and Indiana where I went over the summer to camp and to Noah's Arc. My hobbies are listening to music, playing soccer, riding bikes, and dancing. My interest for the future are going to college and get an Administrative Assistant degree or maybe go into Business Administration in general, I also want to finish high school, then go to a two year college, and also find a good paying job that I will enjoy doing.
I declared myself a Democrat meaning on the left side of the political spectrum. Some of the issues that are to my concern and the reflect the left side that I've decided to be in are: we should have Graduated taxes because I think they are a lot more fair for the less fortunate, Gun control because there should be more restrictions in order to own a gun, also we should have funding for public primary and secondary schools, we should have a decent minimum wage, and welfare for the less fortunate ones. All of these issues support the left side of the political spectrum, and I totally agree with them. All of these issues are of my concern and I believe that we should have a lot of help from the government so that these issues can be treated or solved. I believe every person has the right to be safe and to feel safe, and the government should be able to take care of that. The government take a big part in making it possible.
I think that crime should be handle in a way that will make
society safer like having stricter laws for owning a gun. I know
that no matter what we do we are never going get rid of crime.
Crime can never be prevented 100%, but they are thing that can
be done to prevent crimes. Another concern is whether we should
Graduated or Flat taxes, in my opinion we should have Graduated
taxes because is the best system. It doesn't hurt the less fortunate
and makes it easier for them to pay taxes. The more fortunate
people can pay higher taxes because they have the money to pay
them and they will still have a lot of money left. I believe that
no children's education should suffer because of difficult economic
conditions of their family also because of the community where
they live. Everyone should have the right to have a good education
even if it means that the government has to give more money tours
education. As for the minimum wage I think that there should have
a decent minimum wage, because I believe that everyone works as
hard as they can to keep their job, so everyone deserves a decent
minimum wage. Last but not least I believe the government should
have welfare for the less fortunate. It should be available for
the ones who really needed, the government should have programs
that help the less fortunate.
I am a student at West Chicago High School in West Chicago,
IL. I was born in Winfield, IL and have lived there in the same
house my whole life. I love to play sports and those take up most
of my time now. I also like to go fishing and camping and just
enjoy spending time outside with my friends. I believe in having
a healthy lifestyle so sports and working out are really important
to me. I have vacationed to Wisconsin, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio,
and Florida with my family and feel the need to go more places.
In the future I would like to attend college and get a good job.
I'd like to marry and start a family.
I am a Republican. I agree with their ideas on gun control, abortion,
and other things. I like the way the right side wants a smaller
government. I think that the individual states should be able
to make the laws that will affect them instead of a federal government
making the laws that will affect everyone. The state government
knows its people better than the federal government and care only
about the people in the state instead of a whole nation. These
are the people that I want making the laws that will affect me
most. I also feel you should not be punished if you make more
money because you have to pay more. You worked hard to earn that
profit and deserve to keep it. It doesn't matter how rich you
are, it isn't fair to have to pay more in taxes. Plus, with the
rich having more money, it will create a trickle down effect the
will help strengthen the economy.
I strongly oppose abortion, believing that it is murder. I feel
that a fetus becomes alive at the time of conception and that
no one has the right to take its life away. There are many adoption
options for people who don't want their babies and they should
be used. I feel that if you are old enough to have sex then you
are old enough to deal with the responsibilities that come with
it. I also am against gun control. It is wrong to take away citizens
right to bare arms. How would our nation be able to with stand
an invasion with out them? Or how would we be able to stand up
against a tyrannical government with out them? If people are concerned
about gun crime rate then they should try to fix the problem by
teaching people how to act. Guns don't kill people, people kill
people.
Hello my name is James Thrasher I was born at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield Illinois on April 25, 1984. Ever since I was a kid my parents have been taking me all over the United States. I've been in a lot cool places. The places that we visit the most would probably be Wisconsin, Florida, and Michigan. My major hobbies that I am doing now are working on computers, collecting cards, listing to music, and working on electrical equipment. In the future I want to go to the Eastern Illinois University and get a degree in Engineering, so after college I can go into a good job. I would also like to move to Florida and live on a nice beach house and have very nice cars.
I am a Republican. I am very much against the distribution of wealth. I believe that the more money people make they should get to keep. The government shouldn't have to take money away from the ones who work very hard and end up loosing it all. Cause these days people work their tails off to earn the money to buy all the cool stuff they want. Keeping as much money as possible may make you realize that I am totally in favor of the flat rate tax system and in opposition in the graduated tax system. I am in favor of having the states have all the power so I am in favor of a small government, so I am opposed to big government.
Issues that matter to me are abortion and a flat rate tax system.
All people in the U.S. should be pro-life. I think that if two
people want to have sex then they should have to pay the consequences
for what they did. They shouldn't get the chance to kill a living
human being. Then there is a flat rate tax system. Why should
people who make more money have to pay more taxes? They worked
hard for there money and shouldn't have to pay more. Everybody
should have to pay the same percent. For the person making more
pays more for more comes out with that percent.
Hello everybody! My name is Jessica, however most people call me Jessie for short. I just want to take a moment, and tell you about myself. I was born in Elgin, IL and raised for 15 years in Glendale Hts, IL. I moved here to Winfield, IL when I was a sophomore. I am 18 years old. At WCHS I participate in indoor track, soccer, International Club, and Pep Club. After high school, I want to study to be a Master Chef, so therefore for college I am going to Illinois Institute of Art in Chicago, for 2 years. After college I will hopefully work in a restaurant, and then soon to own my own! Then I hope to have my own cooking show. That would be a lot of fun!! For my spare time, I enjoy hanging out my friends, go shopping, and being with my boyfriend. I cannot wait to graduate, although I am fairly scared of the "real" world, but I will survive.
For American Government, I am a republican. I am a republican because I feel strongly about Flat Tax, Capital Punishment, and I am for Prayers in School. However, the only issue that I am struggling with is Abortion. I am in the middle because I feel that the women should have the right to choose, however I also don't think it is fair to just kill an innocent baby, because of your mistakes. But on most of the quizzes to find what party you belong to, I am mostly republican.
On the issues, I am very strong on the issue of Flat Tax. I
am because some day, I will be a taxpayer, and I hopefully will
own my own business. And me personally would rather pay as much
as everyone else, just because I make more money, I believe I
deserve to keep most of it. And also believe that of now, I am
pro-life. Me personally could never get an abortion, and I don't
believe that anybody should kill an innocent child, however in
cases of rape, I am in the middle. I also believe that people
should not use abortion as birth control. If you are not ready
to have a child, and pay the consequences then you should not
be having sex for any reason. Why is it fair for somebody else
to kill a baby for their irresponsible actions. Also, I believe
heavily in the adoption system, I believe there are thousands
of couples waiting for a child, so don't do abortion, adoption
should be the answer. For prayers in school, I believe it shouldn't
be called a prayer, it should be called a moment of silence. I
personally would love to have a moment of silence, and everyone
doesn't need to pray, just have the right to pray just giving
students the opportunity to do what they wish for that moment
of silence. With the huge issue, Capital Punishment I am all for
it. I believe if somebody has taken somebody's life, then they
should pay the price. I believe that they should have no rights,
instead of wasting their life in a jail, they should be killed.
Their life should end. I believe that killing another human being
is wrong, if that person is innocent, however if somebody killed
somebody else, they should die. I believe that, and I am very
strong with this issue because of September 11th. I cannot tell
you how upset I am about what happened to our country, it was
like a slap in the face what they did to us. And I believe when
we find who ever did it, we should put them to death, because
they have killed thousands of people. They have hurt millions
of people around the globe. I just cannot believe that those people
should be still alive.
I was born in St. Charles, Illinois at a small hospital. At
age one, my family moved from Dundee, IL to Winfield where we
still live. I have always enjoyed sports and have been an active
kid. I still play basketball on the varsity team as a senior and
played golf sophomore through senior year. I am also big on lifting
and other exercises to stay in shape when I'm not in the basketball
season. I have traveled abroad only once but look forward to hopefully
doing it more in the future. Last year I went to Valencia, Spain
with the school and I loved it. I am hoping to go back to the
same place with a friend this summer because I enjoyed how the
social aspects of their society worked. Everything was more laid
back than here.
I have declared myself a republican as most of my views fell on
the right side. My conservative views are prevalent on issues
such as the death penalty, supporting the flat tax, and abortion.
Those are the ones that I feel most strongly about. I feel that
they deserve and that they should be able to keep it as they see
fit. I also feel that state governments should have the majority
of the power to control their portion of the county as the states
vary, as should their laws. These are the main reasons that I
consider myself a republican.
The two issues that I feel most strongly about are abortion and
the proposition of flat tax. In regards to abortion I can only
say so much, you must take responsibility for your actions. If
you choose to have sex then you must understand that getting pregnant
is a very good possibility and killing a fetus to correct your
error in judgement is inexcusable. As I stated above with the
idea of a flat tax, one earns a salary for their job and that
is what I feel they are entitled to. If they decided to give some
back then that's all the better, but how often do you hear a poor
person say thank you to a wealthier one for picking up their slack
on government funding. These are my opinions on the issues that
matter most to me.
I am an athletic student who focuses his life around sports.
I was born in San
Francisco, CA and moved to Illinois when I was about 6 months
old to Oak Park.
Then when I was around four, I moved to Winfield and then five
years after that I
moved to my current residence of West Chicago. I have been to
both coasts many
of times due to having family in Connecticut, Florida and California,
and last spring
brake I participated in the student exchange trip to Spain. After
High School I plan
on attending University of Iowa and majoring in Athletic Training.
Then after that
begin a career in Athletic Training.
I feel that the money that you make is your money and should
be used as you wish
because the reason you have this money is because you deserve
it. The market
place should be run by the owner of the business with very little
interference by the
government. The person or business that has made that profit should
be able to use
the profit for whatever the company or person wishes. The government
should have
very little participation when dealing with the society unless
it is absolutely
necessary. When it comes to distributing power between federal
and state
governments I feel that the federal government should have a very
large say over
the state governments almost to say the state governments would
have very little
power and only have to make decisions on very small issues. With
political rights I
feel they should be respected but also feel that they we will
always have to bend
them here and there.
A main issue that I feel needs some attention would have to
be how punishments of
crimes are now a day. I feel that when a prisoner commits a crime
they should be
punished for that crime and shouldn't be sent off to some hotel.
For example many
prisons contain free education, delicious meals, cable television,
and their own
gyms. I feel that when these convicted criminals are sent to prison
that they are sent
some where they would never want to go back to rather then a free
vacation.
I was born at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, IL. My biggest
move was from the hospital to my house in Carol Stream, where
I have lived for the past 17 years. But I have been very lucky
because I have traveled all over Europe. I have been to about
10 countries in Europe. This past summer I stayed in Germany for
3 weeks. That was quite an experience because I actually lived
with a family. I don't really have any hobbies but I do like to
play volleyball and basketball. Next year I will be going to University
of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I think that I want to be a pharmacist
but I'm not sure yet.
I am a republican because that's where most of my views lie. I
am pro-life. I believe that abortion should only be allowed in
cases of rape and if the mother's life is in danger. Too many
people use abortion as birth control. I don't understand how it
is not murder. It is taking another human beings life. Since murdering
someone is illegal, abortion should be too. I believe that the
government should have less power then they do right now. The
states should have more control because there are issues that
each state has to deal with differently. I also really believe
that if someone works hard and is successful in life they shouldn't
be punished. Like for example, a graduated tax punishes those
that are wealthy. They earned that money just like everyone else
earned their money. That is why we should have flat tax. It makes
it equal because the same percentage of money is taken out. This
generates less money for the government, but I think that is a
good thing. That will force the government to really look at its
programs and eliminate the hurtful ones. These are just a few
of the republican issues I believe in. All of my believes on these
issues make me a republican.
The issue that really interests me is prison. I think that prisons
should be a harsh, almost unbearable place for a criminal to be
punished for whatever he or she did. Right now I believe that
prisons are too easy and that people going in for possession of
drugs or other minor things just laugh at the idea of going to
jail. Prison should be a place that criminals would never want
to return to. Just the thought of going to prison should make
them shiver. If prisons had rehabilitation programs there would
be no punishment anymore and it would not be that bad of a place
to go.
1. My name is Kimberly Ann Burkes. I am 17 and I was born in
Elmhurst at the Elmhurst Memorial Hospital on July 17, 1984. I
enjoy playing sports such as softball, volleyball, and cheerleading.
I have played softball since I was 6 years old and cheering since
I was 10 years old. I love to travel and I get to travel a lot.
I have been to almost every state other than the area of Oregon
and those states. My mother is a ticket agent for American Airlines
so we get to travel whenever we want as much as we want. I love
spending time with my boyfriend, friends, and family. I work at
the Mario Tricoci Hair Salon and Day Spa in Bloomingdale as a
receptionist. After graduating from the wonderful WCCHS, I plan
to attend college to major in Business and have a minor focus
on marketing merchandising. I then plan to get married, have children
(3) and live a happy life.
2. My party affiliation is Republican. I do think I am more of
a moderate republic though. Most of my views lay on the right
side of the spectrum. For example, I am pro-life. Republicans
are pro-life and I feel that abortion should be abolished other
than for very important cases such as rape, incest, or harm to
mother. I also am for harsher prisons. I feel that the criminals
are getting off too easy and that should not be happening. Another
Republican view I stand in is opposing to equal school funding.
I feel that the school system should stay the way that it is and
that schools should not be funded equally. I am for flat-tax and
capital punishment. I see myself more as a moderate republic because
I do have a few democratic views such as stricter gun control,
no national ids, opposing prayers in school, and opposing school
vouchers.
3. The issue that I feel strongly about is the issue of abortion.
I am pro-life. I feel that abortion should be illegal with the
exception of incest, rape, or harm to the mother. I think that
when a woman gets pregnant that she has a living child inside
of her and that getting an abortion would in fact be killing that
child. Abortion is killing and there is nothing that is stopping
that now and I think that it should be illegal. Many women are
getting pregnant and not thinking about the choices that she has
to make. There is always adoption and there are many families
out there willing to take a beautiful child in to their home.
I am pro-life and I feel that the government needs to look a little
bit more in to this situation.
So far I have only lived about half of my life in the United
States. I was born in the Philippines where I lived for about
seven years, and then my family moved to Colombia, South America
where we lived for three years. I have lived in various parts
of the US, but mainly here in West Chicago. Due to living in other
countries, I have a deep appreciation and respect for the United
States and a somewhat unique perspective about some things.
Personally, I do not particularly believe that the party system
is very beneficial. I think it divides where we need unification
and often prevents people from thinking on their own. That said,
I do recognize that the party system is a major part of our government
and I do not think one can be very effective in our government
without choosing a party. My beliefs put me all over the place,
yet they tend to be more Republican than anything else. I do not
believe in big government, but I do still believe the government
should take steps to take care of the more impoverished citizens
(yet only to a point). I believe that our constitutional rights
are very important and should rarely be sacrificed, but I still
believe there are a few legitimate times when they can be partially
sacrificed. For instance, I am very much against censorship, but
I do think that during war times, information should be controlled
to protect the secrecy of military action.
There are not many issues that I care greatly about, but there
are lots that I do have opinions about. For instance, I am more
or less pretty happy with how crime is handled in the US, but
I do think we could and should do more to prevent it. I am pro-life,
but I am not sure that banning abortion will really solve the
problem of abortion. I believe in gun control, in a way, but I
believe in very limited gun control and I believe that our gun
control laws need massive restructuring and reorganization. I
am all for immigration, but very much opposed to illegal immigration.
Immigrants offer a lot to our country when they go through the
system legitimately. I believe in a strong, well-equipped military
to handle our problems as well as the problems of our allies,
and I believe we should be doing more to help other nations. Solving
foreign problems when they are small will help prevent bigger
problems for the US in the future.
I was born on the 25th of January, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove Illinois. Currently I am living with both of my parents and my little sister in the city of West Chicago. My hobbies include my car, girlfriend, volleyball, and hanging out with my friends. My plans for the future include attending the University if Nevada, Las Vegas in the fall and majoring in Computer engineering for four years.
My party affiliation consists of a moderate democrat. I am a firm believer in someone who workers hard all there life should be able to keep and enjoy the money they have earned. I don't think people need to share there money, other then choice. I think our economy is moving along right now and holding strong. I like the way the government is involved in our market place. They keep it fair and running smooth. Also I believe that a federal government should have more power over any state government. This keeps the rights of the people fair and equal. Also, I think that's what keeps America as strong as it is.
Some issues that really matter to me is the one of equal schooling
funding. I strongly disagree with this matter. I don't think that
someone who works really hard for there money should have to pay
for someone else's schooling. I think wealthy people should get
the privilege they disserve, by sending there kid to a nice and
wealthy school of there choice. Second, I think a flat tax rate
is a good idea. Why should someone of greater wealth have to pay
more to the government just because they have more money? Especially
when both the rich and the poor use the programs the government
provides equally.
I am Alberto I was born on September 5 1983. I was born in
the state of Illinois in Winfield. I have not travel to many places,
I only been to Mexico, Atlanta, and to Texas.
What I expect of the future is that I will have hopefully a good
job that I will get pay good so that I could sustain my daughter
and my wife that I have now. What I like to do is to go to church
and praise GOD.
